Andrew Uriarte is the assistant dean for external affairs at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Over the last ten years, he has led his team in raising over $139 million in support of the school.
Uriarte oversees the Tisch School’s external affairs, development and alumni relations office and is responsible for fundraising and institutional advancement efforts across the school. He is charged with developing and finding the necessary resources to maintain the school’s position as one of the world’s premier arts training institutions. He works closely with the dean on the school's top priorities, including the Institute of Performing Arts capital campaign, as well as the school’s Talent Identification Process (TIP), which helps bring in critical endowed scholarship support to attract and retain the country’s most talented young artists regardless of their ability to pay. In 2009 and 2012, he helped to lead the school to record fundraising years and has been twice recognized by NYU’s central development and alumni relations office for these efforts.
Uriarte has been at NYU for 20 years in various executive positions, including head of admissions for NYU’s largest undergraduate school, the College of Arts and Science.
More recently, he served as the director of recruitment and student affairs for the Tisch School where he improved relationships with national centers of excellence, such as community based organizations, arts schools, and not-for-profits working with young artists to increase, strengthen, and diversify the freshmen application pool.
