Lauren Fritz is a Brooklyn based writer/director. She received her BFA from NYU's Kanbar Institute of Film & Television at Tisch and her Masters in Video and Projection Design & Urban Studies from NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

After graduating Lauren worked in both production and development in the film industry on award winning films, television shows and commercials. In addition to her film work, she has written and edited news, reviews and feature articles for a variety of magazines and online publications.

Her original TV pilot "Birds of Paradise" was selected to present at the 2017 IFP Project Forum Week and her short films have screen in competition at the Taos Shortz Film Festival and at the Anthology Film Archives. Presently she is in development on her first feature film "The Return", a sci-fi art house drama  set in New Mexico in 1999.

 

 

"The Return" (short film) selected to screen at the 2020 Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival  and the 2020 NIFF London Indie Film Festival

"Birds of Paradise"  (one hour TV series pilot) was selected to present at the 2017 IFP Project Forum Week.

"Kabul" (short film) selected to screen at the Anthology Film Archives in November 2017 and at the Taos Shorts Film Festival in April 2017.
