Ryan Fleck, in collaboration with his creative partner, Anna Boden, directed the indie darling, Half Nelson. Half Nelson, earned Ryan Gosling his first Oscar nomination for the role of Dan. Their follow up film, Sugar, won, Movie of the Year, 2010, from AFI Awards.
In 2012, the duo began work on a gambling movie, Mississippi Grind. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival where A24 Films and DirecTV Cinema had acquired distribution rights to the film.
They have collaborated on the small screen with, The Big C, The Affair, Billions and Room 104. They are known for their stories about complex characters in unusual situations. Each of their films has gotten bigger in scope and scale. This sensibility had brought them to their biggest film yet, Captain Marvel, staring Brie Larson.
